A landing party.

A landing party is a 23rd century name for an away team. When a team from a starship transport down to a surface of a planet, they are classed as a landing party. (Star Trek: The Original Series)

History and specifics[]

The term which had previously seen use in the 22nd century, "away team", would almost replace the term by the 24th century, although several people have used the term, including Odo. (Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Enterprise, DS9 novelization: What You Leave Behind)
