History[]
In 2270, Delaney provided legal assistance in a matter on Hyrallis IV.
Following the murder of a miner and Horta, Admiral Clem Taplin assigned the Federation starship USS Enterprise to bring Delaney to the Pergium Production Station on Janus VI. Her role was to act as a defense attorney for suspect Jack Katz. Starfleet Regulations placed James T. Kirk in the role of "frontier judge" and the station's chief administrator Wilson Vanderberg as prosecutor. The trip took eight or nine days, during which Delaney availed herself of the ship's legal resources to research the case.
After interviewing Katz on Janus VI, she requested a one-week continuance. She asked the ship's security division to provide a thorough examination of the evidence, and for Leonard McCoy to conduct forensic investigations of both victims. Before a trial could convene, however, the real murderer was uncovered. (FASA RPG module: Witness for the Defense)
