Laxala Mining Combine was collection of Federation-based companies of the 23rd century.

These privately owned businesses bought the planet Laxala in the mid-23rd century and reopened the abandoned Orion mines there, and also commenced mining the other planets and moons of the Lexe system. The miners brought in large mechanized loading docks, orbital facilities, and accommodation for its workers, though the rest of the system remained primitive and undeveloped.

Laxala was also home to ancient ruins and remains, studied by archaeological research teams. The miners and researchers often came into conflict over archaeological sites situated over ore beds, and they weren't always resolved peacefully (FASA RPG module: The Orions: Book of Common Knowledge).
