Laysa was a 23rd century Human woman. She served in Starfleet as a communications officer aboard the Federation starship USS Enterprise in the 2270s under the command of Captain James T. Kirk.
Biography[]
In 2273, Laysa manned the bridge as part of the evening shift along with science officer Tenaida, duty officer Jacobs, and navigator Carly. Tenaida wanted to divert course to avoid a gas cloud, and asked Laysa to reach Kirk, but he didn't respond to the intercom, and she assessed that communications were malfunctioning. She logged a maintenance order and had engineering reroute Kirk's messages until repairs were made. Later, a mystery arose when Tenaida denied having been on the bridge that evening.
