Leader was the rank given as the title of the warrior in charge of a squad in Klingon culture.

History and specifics[]

In the tlhIngan Hol language, this is known as DevwI'. (ST reference: The Klingon Dictionary)

While this title can be loosely used in more vague terms by paramilitary organizations, in the Klingon Empire's military a DevwI' is specifically in charge of a five-soldier squad in the Klingon Defense Force, about equivalent to a corporal of similar services. (ST reference: The Klingon Dictionary; GKN novel: A Good Day to Die, etc.)
