Lee Wayne was a 24th century Human, a member of Starfleet in the 2370s decade.
Biography[]
In the year 2374, Wayne held the officer rank of lieutenant, assigned to the Federation starship USS Enterprise-E, in the security department. Wayne was killed while part of an away team sent to board the Draa'kon warship Connharakt in that year. (TNG novel: Planet X)
- Initially called "Wayne" and "Lieutenant Wayne", this character was called "Lee" in one line of dialogue (indicating his first name was Lee). However, in later dialogue, he was called "Lieutenant Lee". Apparently, the character was initially called "Lee" (a homage to Stan Lee, as the other guards were Kirby and Ditko, the three names of the main Marvel Comics creators of the 1960s). The editor or writer might have decided it was unbecoming to kill off a character named after Marvel's publisher emeritus, and changed the name, but the reference that remained was not caught in the revision.
