Lendrins are a humanoid species native to the Alpha or Beta Quadrant and are members of the United Federation of Planets in the 24th century. (VOY novel: Children of the Storm)

Biology[]

Physiology[]

Lendrin males stand over two meters tall. Their eyes are silver and a single frontal ridge protrudes from the brow, curving downward around the eyes. There are no eyebrows. Scores of faint spots adorn nose and cheeks and the mouth is comparatively small. Lendrin hands feature six fingers.

Tillum Drafar and Mennil Farran had manes of long white hair, although it is not clear whether this coloration and length of hair was a typical feature of their people.

Reproduction[]

Lendrin children spent the first year after birth in a small pouch attached to their mother's abdomen. Physical contact with anyone but the mother cause the infants to die. Until the children are old enough to begin school, they still have to be nourished by their mothers' bodies. Women with children close in age form small groups at that time. (VOY novel: Children of the Storm)

Culture[]

The reproduction ties Lendrin children to their mother, preventing interaction with their fathers for years. Couples usually reunite only after the offspring begins attending school.

In Starfleet, Lendrins are noted for their work ethic. (VOY novel: Children of the Storm)

History[]

The Lendrins joined the Federation sometime between 2371 and 2378. (VOY novel: Children of the Storm)

In 2381 Commander Drafar was given command of USS Achilles, a starship assigned to Project Full Circle as part of the fleet tasked with the exploration of the Delta Quadrant. (VOY novel: Full Circle)
