Leon Trotsky (7 November 187921 August 1940) was a Human who lived on the planet Earth during the 19th and 20th centuries.

Biography[]

Born in the Ukraine, Trotsky was a leader in the Russian revolution that brought about the creation of the Soviet Union. After losing a power struggle with Joseph Stalin, Trotsky was forced into exile, and was assassinated in Mexico in 1940. His supporters in the Soviet government, known as Trotskyists, were purged by Stalin. (Historical accounts)

In the 21st century, Trotsky's political ideology led to the establishment of the Neo-Trotskyism movement, which was in power in France in the 2020s decade. (DS9 episode: "Past Tense, Part I")

In the 23rd century, on the planet Lorina, Pavel Chekov led a security team from the Federation starship USS Enterprise assisting the planet's security forces in hunting down terrorists. The methods of Minister Tasari led Chekov to remark that Tasari would next have the Enterprise personnel hunting for Trotskyists. (TOS novel: Ex Machina)
