Leonard Lawrence Llewellyn was a 23rd century Human man, a noted Federation attorney and author.

Biography[]

Politically conservative, Llewellyn was known to uphold a view of interstellar trading that was upstanding and law-abiding.

In the 2280s decade, he served as senior council for the UFP/Independent Traders Association.

In the late 2280s, after retiring, Llewellyn contributed to UFP/ITA's Spacelanes magazine. He co-authored The Law and the Profits, a popular series of articles that covered everything from smuggling and piracy to bribes and trade restrictions. In the year 2289, he co-authored the segment The Trader and the Law, balancing liberal merchant Rita Martinez in their ongoing candid debates about how the law operates for merchants. In the next issue, the pair wrestled with merchant trading realities in the Imperial Klingon States. (FASA RPG module: Spacelanes: The Magazine of Interstellar Trade)

Quotes[]

  • "In a well-run bureaucracy, civil servants will perform their duties efficiently without the additional incentive of bribes."
  • "Statistics show that the best procedure for dealing with a hijacking is do not resist. Hijackers and pirates are merciless and will often kill anyone who gets in the way... Observe all you can, and report to the local authorities and to Starfleet as soon as you can."
