For other uses, see Letek.

Letek was a 24th century Ferengi man who served in the Ferengi Alliance's military in the 2360s and the 2370s decades.

Biography[]

Letek learned how to get around unopenable doors from Lycus. He rewarded his mentor by stealing the man's latinum from his own vault.

In the year 2363, he was nearly caught during a theft while using a MagBreaker 8 to open a maglock on Cardassia IV. (TNG - Explorer short story: "Attempted Break-in")

In 2364, Letek was one of the first Ferengi to be encountered by the United Federation of Planets. Letek's team incapacitated an away team from the USS Enterprise-D and later negotiated with a portal of the Tkon Empire. (TNG episode: "The Last Outpost")

After DaiMon Tarr was sanctioned, he and Kayron worked independently. When a database revealed that Fort Knox stored gold, the duo headed for Earth. Letek's uprated MagBreaker 9 was able to open the facility's entrance. They were apprehended before they could use pattern enhancers to beam gold out of the vault. (TNG - Explorer short story: "Attempted Break-in")

By 2372, Letek had risen to the rank of DaiMon and commanded the Preekon. In that year, Letek was contacted by Benjamin Sisko and Quark from the USS Defiant who asked him for an audience with Grand Nagus Zek. Quark thought Letek's bottom row of teeth looked horrible, while Jadzia Dax thought he seemed familiar. Letek later transported Quark from the Defiant to the Nagal Residence on Ferenginar. (DS9 novel: The 34th Rule)

Letek was played by Armin Shimerman in "The Last Outpost".
