Light freighter

The term light freighter or small freighter is a starship classification that is applied to starships that are designed as small, basic freighter vessels.

History and specifics

These vessels could either be outfitted for light use, with lighter use engines and support systems in a standard size freighter hull body, or conversely other vessels with this classification could be physically smaller.
