Limestone is a sedimentary rock which is largely composed of mineral calcite (calcium carbonate). Limestone is known to exist in many planets across the galaxy, including Earth and New T'Karath.

On New T'Karath, a group of Vulcan dissidents known as the Sakethans, constructed the walls of their burial mounds with limestone. (TNG novel: The Worst of Both Worlds)

At the southern polar region of Torgu-Va there is an area of limestone that is close to the surface with a layer of granite underneath that. This was the location that the Human survivors had started digging the Federation Battle Station Torgu-Va. (TNG novel: The Forgotten War)
