Lirss sector map, 2410.

The Lirss sector was a region of space, a sector within the Beta Quadrant sector block, located in the galaxy's Beta Quadrant. In the 25th century, this territory was contested between the Romulan Star Empire and the Romulan Republic. (STO - Romulan Mystery mission: "Heading Out")

Naming[]

The .

The planet Lirss Prime.

The sector shared its name with the Lirss star system, which include the site of a Daystrom Institute annex and Kal Dano's research in the 27th century. (STO - Future Proof mission: "Vorgon Conclusions")

Location[]

The Lirss sector was surrounded by five other named sectors, all part of the Beta Quadrant's sector block within local space. On its coreward side, the Lirss sector shared a border with the Dimorus sector. The Alini sector was located on the anti-spinward border. The rimward edge bordered the Agrama sector. At the corner where the Dimorus, Lirss and Agrama sectors touched was the Vendor sector. The Noro sector was between between the Alini, Agrama and Lirss sectors. (STO - Romulan Mystery mission: "Heading Out")

History[]

In the early 25th century, the Lirss star system and its sole planet, Lirss Prime, were part of the Romulan Star Empire, under the Tal Shiar's diminishing control. The Federation was active in the area. (STO - Romulan Mystery mission: "Heading Out")

In the year 2409, an Alliance starship investigated Lirss Prime's planetary ring for signs of intelligence in its asteroids. The ship came under attack from Hirogen vessels. (STO - Romulan Mystery mission: "Patrol the Lirss System")

By the 27th century, Lirss Prime had been terraformed to class L marginal planet status, and it was one its way to become a class M world. It was part of the Galactic Union, an expansion of the Federation and the Khitomer Alliance. The planet became inhabited and held the site of a Daystrom Institute annex.

On stardate 354184.63, Vorgons from elsewhen in the 27th century attacked the Daystrom scientist Kal Dano trying to steal his Tox Uthat quantum-phase inhibitor. Timot Danlen brought a 25th century Alliance starship along to repel the VSV Arbarel and its escorts to save Dano. (STO - Future Proof mission: "Vorgon Conclusions")
