Biography

A female Romulan, Livia entered into the service of the Tal Shiar — the clandestine intelligence apparatus of the Romulan Star Empire — and became aware of their fascination with Valas, who had been raised outside Imperial space and later become a commander within the Federation Starfleet before she surrendered herself to face reconditioning for the actions of her dissident parents. Sometime after the first Borg incursion into the Romulan domain, Livia visited the cell where Valas was held, wearing a purple cloak that shadowed her features. As the warden that had accompanied her warned Valas not to resist, Livia interjected, assuring her companion that their presence was not required to ensure her welfare, then proceeded to dismiss the guard so that she could talk with the prisoner alone. After this order was followed, the agent promised Valas that their subsequent conversation would not be recorded, stating that if the situation demanded it, the recollections could even be erased. With this statement, she proceeded to remove her cowl, exposing her face while she offered her name to the other woman, telling Valas that the individuals that she spoke for had followed her accomplishments with admiration for a number of years. Claiming that her organisation had been watching the former Starfleet officer from afar, she introduced Valas to the Tal Shiar, querying over her knowledge of the cabal.
