Lorealyn V was a planet, the fifth planet of the Lorealyn system, located within the Organian Treaty Zone in the galaxy's Alpha or Beta Quadrants.

History and specifics[]

It was an uninhabitable, volcanic world that yielded unusual crystal formations denser than dilithium. (FASA RPG - Adventure Book module: In the Presence of My Enemies)

In the year 2270, scientists saw potential use with the planet's crystals in transwarp propulsion systems, making the system a diplomatic flashpoint. (FASA RPG module: Star Trek IV Sourcebook Update)

Diplomats invited the system's interplanetary humanoid natives to join the Federation, but the Klingon Empire countered by offering warp engine technology, starship-building expertise, and control of two adjacent Klingon-held planets. The Federation Council dispatched Ambassador Carlos Rivera to the system with a sweeping proposal to clinch Federation membership. (FASA RPG - Adventure Book module: In the Presence of My Enemies)
