Lorentz Crater was a geological formation, a crater located on Luna.

History and specifics[]

Lorentz Crater is 312 kilometers in diameter and located in the northern hemisphere at coordinates 32.6° N latitude and 95.3° W longitude.

The meteorite impact crater was visible west of the Ocean of Storms. It was located northwest of Einstein Crater and the city of Relativity. The lunar settlements Lorentz and West Lorentz were founded on opposite sides of the landmark. (Last Unicorn RPG module: Starfleet Academy "Luna Planetary Index")

The crater is a real-world site named for Hendrik Lorentz, a Nobel Prize-winning physicist from the early 20th century, also honored by the naming of the USS Lorentz and the phenomena of Lorentzian wormholes.
