Loskene was a Tholian starship commander who was active in the 23rd century.

Biography[edit | edit source]

It was this commander that intercepted the USS Enterprise as it entered the territory of the Tholian Assembly in search for the USS Defiant in 2268. He gave the crew of the Enterprise an hour and fifty three minutes in order to rescue their Captain while he was lost in an interphase.

After the time had expired, he opened fire on the Enterprise which returned the gesture. This return fire temporarily disabled Loskene's ship and he summoned reinforcements which created the infamous 'Tholian Web' around the Enterprise, however, before it was completed, the Starfleet vessel escaped. (TOS episode: "The Tholian Web")

He was present at the border patrol that intercepted the doomsday machine weapon under the command of Delcara. His ship was disabled and approached by the USS Enterprise-D where he inquired whether a 'lying Vulcan called Spock' was present among the crew. After which, he warned the Starfleet ship to leave their territory while they dealt with the doomsday weapon trespassing Tholian space. (TNG novel: Vendetta).

He would become a notorious enemy to the Federation and even reach the rank of grand admiral. He was also noted as an enemy of James T. Kirk. (TOS novel: The Return)
