- "I don't think Enterprise will ever have a chief engineer more in love with his ship."
- —Pike, on Louvier's relationship with the Enterprise
Louvier was a 23rd century Human man, a Starfleet officer who served as chief engineer aboard the USS Enterprise by 2257. He was noted for his devotion to the Enterprise.
Biography[edit | edit source]
After the Enterprise suffered a ship-wide systems failure, Louvier and his crew investigated and determined that the holographic communicator was the source of the problem. In response Captain Christopher Pike ordered Louvier to remove the holographic communication system from the ship. (DSC episode: "An Obol for Charon")
By the time James T. Kirk assumed command of the Enterprise Louvier had been succeeded as Chief Engineer by Montgomery Scott. (TOS novels: Enterprise: The First Adventure, Burning Dreams)
