Lubbock was a Human city settlement in the state of Texas on the planet Earth's North American continent, founded during the expansion of the United States of America nation.

Lubbock was the origin of a fictional character named Texas in the literature of author Todd Matthews, in the novel Hotel Royale. An alien lifeform created a representation of the titular Royale on planet Theta 116 VIII, complete with a full cast of illusory Humans from the book. When an away team from the Federation starship USS Enterprise-D visited the world in the year 2365, the gambler named Texas told Data he had driven from Lubbok to Las Vegas in his 1991 Cadillac (which only had 80,000 miles on it).
