For other uses, see Lucius Sejanus.

Lucius Aelius Sejanus was a Roman who attempted to overthrow Emperor Tiberius of the Roman Empire. His coup was stopped and he was executed and then torn to pieces by a mob.

In 2364, the crews from the USS Centurion and USS Enterprise-D compared the point in history where Human and Magna Roman history diverged. They determined it was when Lucius Sejanus failed to overthrow Tiberius on Earth and he succeeded on Magna Roma. (TNG novel: The Captains' Honor)

In the BBC miniseries I, Claudius, Lucius Aelius Sejanus was played by Patrick Stewart, who played later Jean-Luc Picard in Star Trek: The Next Generation.
