Lutetium (symbol Lu) is a chemical element, atomic number 71 on the periodic table.

Characteristics and historyEdit

Lutetium has an atomic mass of 174.97, and was discovered by Humans on Earth's European continent for the first time by scientists working in France, in the year 1907. This element is the final member of the lanthanide series of heavy elements. (ST reference: Star Fleet Medical Reference Manual)
