"We're all scientists here. Learning is kind of in our wheelhouse."
Lynn Lucero to Edward Larkin, 2250s[src]

Lynne Lucero was a 23rd century Human woman, a Starfleet captain in the 2250s decade. She was the commanding officer of the USS Cabot. (Short Treks episode: "The Trouble with Edward")

Biography[]

In the 2250s, Lucero served as a science officer aboard the Constitution-class starship USS Enterprise under Captain Christopher Pike. Lucero was promoted to captain and the Enterprise rendezvoused with her new command, the Magee-class escort USS Cabot at Pragine 63. Pike personally bid Lucero goodbye. Captain Lucero's first mission was to avert starvation for the Calations, the civilization native to Pragine 63.

Aboard the Cabot, Lucero worked with her science officers to develop strategies. Protein specialist Edward Larkin was unable to forge a working relationship with Lucero, and she had him transferred off the ship. Before the order could be executed, Edward's experiments with Human DNA infused tribbles caused the destruction of the Cabot and an ecological catastrophe on Pragine 63. Lucero was reprimanded for the loss of her ship during her first mission, and the fallout of the tribble catastrophe, by a Starfleet Board of Inquiry. (Short Treks episode: "The Trouble with Edward")

Alternate timeline[]

In an alternate timeline affected by the Q's temporal anomaly crisis, Lucero was given time off to reflect on the loss of the Cabot. She opted for holiday on Risa with another Starfleet captain. Unfortunately, Admiral Maxwell Forrest ran into her and admonished her for relaxing instead of reflecting. She and the captain then noticed a suspicious waiter and investigated him to protect the admiral. The waiter was a Xindi in Human disguise, working under the aegis of Commander Dolim, leader of the Xindi-Reptilians. At this time - circa 2380 - the Xindi and the Dominion were allies because the former hosted dislocated Founders, Jem'Hadar and Vorta in the Delphic Expanse spheres.
