Mabus was a Trabe leader who was imprisoned by the Kazon in the early 2370s.
History
However, Mabus was freed from prison in 2372 by the Talaxian trader Neelix, who took Mabus to rendezvous with the USS Voyager along with thirty Trabe vessels.
Mabus met with Captain Kathryn Janeway and proposed an alliance to help each other travel out of Kazon space, but also make peace with the Kazon sects. However, once a diplomatic conference with Janeway, Mabus, and the First Maje's of the Kazon sects were arranged, Mabus attempted to assassinate the Kazon leaders, and the alliance was called off.
