Memory Beta, non-canon Star Trek Wiki

Madec was a fictional character, a hologram of a 24th century Cardassian woman serving as a gul in the Cardassian military.

History[]

In the year 2381, Beckett Mariner's USS Cerritos exercise holoprogram "Cardassian Prison Break" featured Madec. Madec held Mariner and Brad Boimler prisoner at a detention center located within an asteroid. However, Mariner escaped, taking Madec hostage aboard the USS MacDuff. (LD episode: "Strange Energies", Adventures RPG module: Lower Decks Campaign Guide)

Mariner's program was based on the holodrama Break From Destiny, which dramatized the real escape of the MacDuff in 2373 by her crew and Captain S'rash from a Cardassian detention facility in the Dopa system. (Adventures RPG module: Lower Decks Campaign Guide)

It was not explained whether Madec was created solely by Mariner or based on a character in the holodrama, or was the actual commander of the facility.

Later that year, the rogue artificial intelligence Badgey utilized Madec as a character in various drills and simulations with Cerritos officers trapped in the starship's holodeck. (LD video game: The Badgey Directive)

In one drill, Admiral Vassery and Mariner met with Madec aboard the Cerritos. Vassey thought a strike force was being assembled, but she said these were routine training drills. She derided Starfleet monitoring of Cardassia. She beamed back to her Galor-class starship, then down to a planet's surface, where she captured Boimler at gunpoint. Later, she interrogated him. She became dejected when he broke easily, not caring how many lights were behind her, but she wasn't entirely convinced. D'vana Tendi and Sam Rutherford then beamed aboard the ship and rescued him. She had her ship power up weapons, but Boimler ordered Cerritos to return fire, and her vessel retreated. (LD video game: The Badgey Directive episode: "Pain of Command")

In another drill, Madec and Boimler participated in a competitive sand castle competition on Risa. She may have been working with or against Section 31 operatives Tuvok and Julian Bashir to acquire the Tox Uthat, which Boimler discovered and unknowingly buried near a sand castle. (LD video game: The Badgey Directive event: "Captive's Holiday")
