Madeline is a character in the Dixon Hill stories. She is Dix's secretary.
Fictional biography[]
Madeline worked for Dix for more than five years. She was loyal, unflappable, and hard working. She liked to chew gum and had a working-class accent. She reminded him often not to forget details like paying her salary and the rent. Madeline wore fashionable low-cut dresses, stockings, and pumps. (Last Unicorn RPG - Holodeck Adventures module: Dixon Hill and the Case of the Golden Serpent)
She thought America should stay out of the escalating World War II and wasn't shy to share her opinion on the matter. She drank rye and ginger. (TNG episode: "Manhunt")
Madeline also took care of Dix's dry cleaning. (TNG - Strange New Worlds V short story: "The Monkey Puzzle Box")
When Q dumped an ash tray on the floor and tossed a lit cigarette in a trash can, she quickly put it out before it could catch fire. (TNG comic: "Reductions & Deductions")
History[]
In the 2360s, Jean-Luc Picard interacted with a hologram of Madeline while running the Dixon Hill program on the holodeck of the USS Enterprise-D. (TNG episodes: "The Big Goodbye", "Manhunt", "Clues")
