Mae West (17 August 189322 November 1980) was an American actress and sex symbol who lived during the 19th and 20th centuries.

Legacy[]

On the day that Benny Russell and his classmates visited the 1939 New York World's Fair in 1940, a rumour began to circulate that Mae West was appearing at the main pavilion. It was considered plausible as both the Marx Brothers and Abbott and Costello had performed there in the previous week. However, the rumour proved to be false. (DS9 novelization: Far Beyond the Stars)

In a holoprogram set in 1944, Tom Paris and B'Elanna Torres had the identities of Bobby Davis and Brigitte imposed on them. When Bobby visited Sainte Claire during the summer of 1936, he and Brigitte went to see Mae West's film I'm No Angel in the local cinema. They kissed during the film. When Bobby returned to Sainte Claire with the US 29th Infantry Division on September 29, 1944 and was reunited with the pregnant Brigitte (by then a member of the French Resistance), they reminisced about the film and the kiss. (VOY episode: "The Killing Game")
