Malak Plateau was a notable geographical landmark on the planet Ithen, aka Orodanga.

One of many desolate, upland plateaus on Ithen, this particular region historically belonged to ancient nation-states, but in modern times was nearly completely uninhabited.
A 20th century expedition of the plateau discovered Toka's Sea, once believed to be mythological. The site soon became a tourist destination and residence for those who sought relief from the more crowded coastal settlements.
