The Malon cruiser was a tanker/cruiser starship type in service to the Malon Union in the early 25th century. (STO - The Delta Quadrant mission: "Reunion")

Specifications[]

The cruiser was a tanker starship equipped for combat. The basic superstructure was supplemented with three spherical tanks holding theta radiation. The cruiser was longer and more powerful than a Malon frigate. Cruisers usually operated in pairs. (STO - The Delta Quadrant mission: "Reunion")

With the three tanks appended to the spinal superstructure, the cruiser looked the same as the export vessel, 11th gradient from the 2370s. (STO - The Delta Quadrant mission: "Reunion", VOY episodes: "Night", "Extreme Risk", DS9 - Gateways novel: Demons of Air and Darkness)

History[]

In the year 2410, Alpha Quadrant Alliance officers were briefed on the Malon as part of Operation Delta Rising. Intelligence File 487-C Malon included an image of a Malon cruiser. (ST video game: Star Trek Online)

In early 2410, Malon cruisers arrived at New Talax to aid Controller Selvk, who was dumping theta radiation in orbit of the new prospective Talaxian homeworld. The ships engaged in battle with the Alpha Quadrant Alliance starship accompanying the Talaxian fleet. The cruisers were no match for the AQA starship, which defeated Selvk's reinforcements without destroying them. Defeated, Selvk surrendered the dumping ground to the Talaxians and his ships retreated. (STO - The Delta Quadrant mission: "Reunion")
