A manuil was a type of animal lifeform found on the planet Rigel I.
As an adaptation to the harsh environment of Rigel I, the manuils had a rapid breeding cycle. However, when population pressures grew too great, the manuils turned highly aggressive and killed each other. Spock mentioned manuils as an example of similar behavior practiced by the Tomariians.
