The Maori were an ethnic group of Humans native to the New Zealand region on Earth. The Maori were an ancient tribal culture, renown as warriors and often distinguishable by their ornate facial tattoos called Mokos, which symbolized an individuals character and identity.

The Speaker of the Council in 2269 was a male of Maori descent. (TOS novel: Prime Directive)

Quint Freedman could trace his ancestry back to the Maori and grew up in a reservation on Earth along side others with that shared ancestry. (TNG video game: Away Team)
