Memory Beta, non-canon Star Trek Wiki
For other uses, see Mara.

Mara was a female humanoid native of an unnamed planet, and a key member of the Jabari guerrilla forces against the Kornak Armed Forces. She was a close associate of Jabari leader Saad, and secretly harbored deeper emotional feelings for him. Because of the environmental conditions on her world, Mara was missing the left half of her jaw and her nose.

In 2376, after Doctor Elizabeth Lense was stranded on his world, it was Mara who discovered her, and brought her as a Jabari prisoner to Saad.

Two months later, Mara took part in a raid of the Kornak's Rangdron Medical Complex, where Saad had learned from a sympathizer, Major Arin, that Julian Bashir was being held, and was to be subjected to medical experiments. Though Bashir was saved in this raid, Mara was killed by Kornak Security Director Colonel Blate. (SCE eBooks: Wounds, Book 1, Wounds, Book 2)

Lense recalled Mara's explanation of the trouble her people had reproducing following the Cataclysm while she was dealing with the reproductive issues on planet Mariposa. (SCE eBooks: Wounds, Book 2, Out of the Cocoon)
