Maria Caycedo was a Human female of Martian origins who lived in the 22nd century.

Biography[]

In 2162, Caycedo was a senior member of the Martian Parliament, who strongly opposed Mars's entrance into the newly established United Federation of Planets. For this, the pro-Federation artificial intelligence known as Uraei clandestinely arranged her death by taking advantage of Caycedo's severe peanut allergies. The public believed it to be an accident as Uraei's manipulation was so thorough. Her replacement delivered the deciding vote in support of Mars's application for Federation membership.
