Nurse Maria Takagi was a Starfleet medical officer serving aboard the USS Aventine by 2381.

During the Borg Invasion of 2381, the Aventine attacked and captured a Borg scout, hoping to secure its vinculum. As the security personnel were using energy dampening devices, friendly fire incidents occurred. Maria assisted Doctor Simon Tarses in operating on Lieutenant Pava Ek'Noor sh'Aqabaa, clamping the bleeding aorta and repairing her injured internal organs. After successfully stabilizing the Andorian, Tarses ordered her to have the medtechs move sh'Aqabaa to the operating room and to find him another surgical arch. (ST - Destiny novel: Lost Souls)
