Marikk Botar was a 23rd century Orion man, an Orion Syndicate leader who commanded a fleet of Orion interceptor starships.

Biography[]

In 2270, Botar conducted business with Section 31 spy Moore with the aim of capturing the Archernar IV world-ship and its uniquely powerful Omega-weapon, but its location was secret. Moore used an unusual subspace transceiver from his quarters aboard the USS Enterprise to send Botar the coordinates. (TOS - Mission's End comic: "Issue 3")

Unfortunately, Nyota Uhura detected the transmission and Moore was captured. One hour later, Botar's ships surrounded the Enterprise and he demanded Moore's release. (TOS - Mission's End comic: "Issue 4")

During an emergency evacuation of Archernar IV, Captain James T. Kirk aboard Columbus warned Botar that the world-ship was about to disappear, and anything nearby would be destroyed. Botar laughed as the Enterprise and Columbus fled the area, but died along with everyone in his fleet as it was destroyed by the wake left by Archernar's departure to another dimension. (TOS - Mission's End comic: "Issue 5")
