Marin Liu was a 24th century human woman who served in the Starfleet Judge Advocate General's office. Holding the rank of Admiral she was a judicial officer in 2387.

Liu was assigned to be the presiding officer at the preliminary Article thirty-two hearing held to determine if Captain Jean-Luc Picard should face a court martial for his role in ending the Presidency of Min Zife.

After hearing the testimony and closing statements, Liu decided not to recommend that Picard face court martial. Feeling that Picard still needed to face censure for his acts, she entered a reprimand in Picard's file, and stated that while Picard would be allowed to continue serving in Starfleet he would never be allowed to be promoted to Flag officer.
