Background[]
Some vessels in the game are shown to be commanded normally by lieutenant commanders and commanders, meaning that this character might sometimes be portrayed at those ranks, even though a full post captain's rank insignia is shown here for the purposes of this wiki. In cases where large capital vessels and flagships are employed, it is also plausible that the CO referred to as "captain" is actually a commodore or admiral.
Captain Taylor could be encountered in the SFC game series in command of a number of vessels depending on the random association of personnel names to ships in play:
No history or fate is established for this character in licensed Star Trek, in which the name was randomly assigned by the SFC game software. Since the NPC (non-player character) lists used for the game software were re-used for the 24th century game Starfleet Command III, there is also a 24th century character bearing the same name. There is a possibility it is the same person, who somehow either aged gracefully or was spared from aging by stasis or time travel.
