The Marquess of Queensberry Rules are an endorsed set of rules of the Human sport of boxing originating from before the 20th century in the planet Earth's Western hemisphere.

History and specifics[]

In 2270, Captain James T. Kirk said he would not stick to Marquis of Queensberry rules while competing with the Klingons for an alliance with the Briamosites. When Spock expressed his unfamiliarity with the expression, Hikaru Sulu explained that they were related to boxing. (TAS - Log Ten novelization: The Slaver Weapon)

In the year 2369, Q impersonated a boxer of the early 1900s when these rules would have been in vogue. (DS9 episode: "Q-Less")
