Marruu was a male human Starfleet officer serving in the late 23rd century. In 2293, he served as navigator aboard the USS Enterprise-B during its shakedown cruise and subsequent mission to Antares.
After the death of Captain James T. Kirk during the attempted rescue of the SS Lakul and SS Robert Fox from the Nexus, he lost confidence in the command ability of Captain John Harriman; during the Enterprise's mission to Antares, he openly questioned Harriman's order to signal the ship's surrender to the Klingon battlecruiser IKS Vengeance.
