Marvel Illustrated Books was a series of mass-market paperbacks published in 1981 and 1982 by Marvel Comics, one of which featured TOS stories.

History and specifics[]

The series reprinted stories by reassembling comic book panels so that they fit legibly on paperback-sized pages. In January 1982, Marvel released The Further Adventures of the Starship Enterprise in this series, featuring a painted cover by Bob Larkin.

Additional books in the series focused on science fiction series like Blade Runner and Star Wars as well as Marvel characters. Larkin also painted the cover for Spider-Man (#02858), while Dave Cockrum painted X-Men (#02835). A Harlan Ellison story appeared in The Incredible Hulk (#02832).
