Matthew Nikon was a 23rd century Human man. He served in Starfleet as a chief aboard the Federation starship USS Enterprise under the command of Captain James T. Kirk in the 2260s.

History

In 2268, Nikon beamed down to the war-ravaged capital city of Rudimon as its population began a fledgling peace. He accompanied large numbers of the ship's personnel to help train medical technicians, provide new educational techniques to teachers, and upgrade the city's power plant. While he was assisting, an outdated, underground nuclear engine blew up. Nikon was one of 63 Enterprise crew who were killed in the blast.

Commander Spock saw Nikon's name on the official casualty list. The Enterprise brought his body to Starbase 47. (TOS - Star Trek: The Manga - Uchu comic: "The Humanitarian")
