Commander Mauracher was a Starfleet officer in the 23rd century. He served on the USS Lantree as executive officer under Captain Gees. Salvatore Giotto, who had served with them, later recalled that when there had been fighting to do, Gees, unlike Captain Kirk, would have Giotto or Mauracher handle it.
