Maurice Picard was married to Yvette Gessard Picard and father of Robert Picard, Jean-Luc Picard and Claude Picard.

Maurice ran the Chateau Picard vineyards in LaBarre, France, on Earth, and preferred the traditional methods and lifestyle of centuries past. (TNG episodes: "Family", "Conundrum", and "Tapestry").

In the TNG comic The Gift Maurice was named as Claude.
