McCall was a Federation fighter-like Federation shuttlecraft, prototype of the McCall-class, in Starfleet service, attached to the USS Enterprise-E in the late 24th century.

Service history[]

At some point in her service career, McCall was docked in the main shuttlebay when the Argo was on approach to the Sovereign-class starship. (ST - Ships of the Line calendar: 2011)

Appendices[]

Background[]

John Eaves planned to name this shuttle after the United States Air Force General William J. Fox. An airfieldWP located in LancasterWP, CaliforniaWP is named after this general. However, as Eaves worked on the painting, he received news that his friend Robert McCallWP had died. Robert McCall had worked as an artist on the film 2001: A Space OdysseyWP and was hired by the SmithsonianWP to create murals which illustrated the history of NASAWP. After learning about his friend's death, Eaves placed a call to Doug Drexler asking him if the shuttle's name could be changed. Drexler gave his consent and the name was changed. Eaves described this shuttlecraft as a fighter that was assigned to the Enterprise soon after the events in Star Trek: Nemesis. [1]
