McHogue was a man who was a career criminal in the 24th century.
Biography[]
In the year 2369, McHogue pursuaded the Severalty Front, who had overthrown (temporarily) the Bajoran government, to allow him to build the city of Moagitty on Bajor. McHogue was also aided by Dukat and the Cardassian military. McHogue's true threat was his use of cortical induction holosuites. (DS9 novel: Warped)
- McHogue may have appeared Human, although Kai Opaka described him as an: "ancient enemy, one who wears this man's face as a mask, the better to deceive those who see only with their eyes and not with their hearts". These comments ascribe supernatural or possibly alien attributes to McHogue as a non-Human entity, but it is not known to what extent these could be considered literally. While the publication of McHogue's singular appearance preceded the storyline of the Pah-wraiths, the characteristics of his near-supernatural abilities bear similarities to that later plot development.
