In 2267, Dr. Nazino disguised a bomb as a medi-analyser in an attempt to kill Prince Raviki, but the plot failed as the prince refused to be examined, and Montgomery Scott noticed the medi-analyser was very hot and quickly threw it away just before it exploded. (TOS comic: "A World Gone Mad")
