The Melville (NCC-92317/07) was a 24th century Federation spacecraft, a Type-6 shuttlecraft in Starfleet service in the 2380s decade. The Melville was assigned to the Centaur-class science vessel USS Resolute. (ST video game: Resurgence)
Service history[]
On stardate 57931.4 in the year 2380, the Melville was one of several shuttles - alongside the Polar, Baffin and Ptarmigan - undergoing maintenance in the lower decks while the Resolute was docked at Starbase 128 and preparing for relaunch. (ST video game: Resurgence chapter: "The Lower Decks")
During the mission in the Hotari system, Ambassador Spock, Captain Solano, Commander Rydek, Petty Officer Maris, and Petty Officer Kapoor travelled to the surface of Hotari Prime in Shuttlecraft Melville. The Melville's engine and sensor logs were added to the data gathered by Shuttlecraft Baffin to give a more complete picture of the subspace distortions created by the Tkonian warp disruption weapon. The shuttle suffered minor damage from the ion storm, micro-welding the hull plating. Miranda Maris used an interphasic coil spanner to assist Carter Diaz and Nili Edsilar in opening the nacelle. While removing isolinear chips from the engine computer Diaz dropped one, which is how he located a Tkonian device had been smuggled aboard the Resolute.
