Memory Beta, non-canon Star Trek Wiki

A friendly reminder regarding spoilers! At present the expanded Trek universe is in a period of major upheaval with the continuations of Discovery and Prodigy, the advent of new eras in gaming with the Star Trek Adventures RPG, Star Trek: Infinite and Star Trek Online, as well as other post-57th Anniversary publications such as the ongoing IDW Star Trek comic and spin-off Star Trek: Defiant. Therefore, please be courteous to other users who may not be aware of current developments by using the {{spoiler}}, {{spoilers}} OR {{majorspoiler}} tags when adding new information from sources less than six months old (even if it is minor info). Also, please do not include details in the summary bar when editing pages and do not anticipate making additions relating to sources not yet in release. THANK YOU

Discussion[]

A little research goes a long way. I've added the caption, citation, and copyright. -- BadCatMan 02:49, May 8, 2012 (UTC)

Not in this case. Incorrect citation and copyright.
Another example of a case where it really falls on the image uploader to take the time to take the correct steps. I'm not sure where this is from. -- Captain MKB 03:06, May 8, 2012 (UTC)
Easy. It's from TMP, via Star Trek Magazine. The picture appears on Memory Alpha, at KazariteMA. Can someone confirm the STM issue? Is it January 2002?
New users should be shown what to do, not threatened with deletion. -- BadCatMan 03:16, May 8, 2012 (UTC)
I'm not sure why you're giving so much attitude over going through uncited images, but you can stop. This is a normal process on the wiki, and it is in fact a way to show people how to cite their images. It's not a threat, it's an open dialogue.
In the future please recognize that "The Motion Picture" and "Star trek Magazine" are two different sources. One is movie, and the other is a stack of printed paper. -- Captain MKB 03:20, May 8, 2012 (UTC)
I didn't see that it was Star Trek Magazine until I scrolled down a bit. My fault. -- BadCatMan 03:28, May 8, 2012 (UTC)
Well we haven't located the month and issue number, so I suppose we need more scrolling?
And since you're concerned, the new user in question was clearly shown what to do, hours before i started this discussion. -- Captain MKB 03:58, May 8, 2012 (UTC)

Fixed[]

After some research, I've confirmed the citation and added copyright. It may also have come from Star Trek Fact Files, which Star Trek: The Magazine reprinted from, but it would be the same picture in each case. -- BadCatMan (talk) 13:19, September 14, 2012 (UTC)
