Memory Beta, non-canon Star Trek Wiki

A friendly reminder regarding spoilers! At present the expanded Trek universe is in a period of major upheaval with the continuations of Discovery and Prodigy, the advent of new eras in gaming with the Star Trek Adventures RPG, Star Trek: Infinite and Star Trek Online, as well as other post-57th Anniversary publications such as the ongoing IDW Star Trek comic and spin-off Star Trek: Defiant. Therefore, please be courteous to other users who may not be aware of current developments by using the {{spoiler}}, {{spoilers}} OR {{majorspoiler}} tags when adding new information from sources less than six months old (even if it is minor info). Also, please do not include details in the summary bar when editing pages and do not anticipate making additions relating to sources not yet in release. THANK YOU

Templates question

Is there a page here that lists ALL templates we can use? Thanks all, Rustyblue 21:32, 10 August 2006 (UTC)

Not all because there are rather alot and some are rather obscure, the most useful ones are here for any others the easiest thing to do is find a similar page with the templates you want and copy them from there. -- 8of5 21:37, 10 August 2006 (UTC)
Thanks. I'll do what you suggested. Rustyblue 22:39, 10 August 2006 (UTC)
Is there something in particular you are looking for? -- 8of5 23:04, 10 August 2006 (UTC)
No...just curious. Rustyblue 03:14, 11 August 2006 (UTC)

Can of worms

I was thinking about adding a description for the Star Trek: The Next Generation/X-Men crossover novel, Planet X as well as the two comics that connect to it, until I realized what a horrible can of worms I'd be opening.

Just imagine, a book description that includes links to the likes of Wolverine, Cyclops, Archangel, Storm and the rest of Marvel's Mutants.

And then consider that Wolverine is currently serving with the Avengers. Gotta mention that. Then you gotta mention the Avengers themselves, Captain America, Iron Man, and, oh, don't forget Spider-Man. Of course then youl'd get stubs for Mary Jane Watson, Aunt May (with a re-direct to May Parker) and Doctor Octopus.

Of course, three members of the Fantastic Four were Avengers, no self-respecting Wiki could ignore that.

Then, of course, these's the bad guys. Deathbird, Gladiator, Proteus, Kang the Conquerer.

Then, of course, most of those characters have participated in the crossovers with the DC Universe, with links to articles about Batman, Superman,Wonder Woman and the rest to follow.

The mind literally boggles...

So, nope, no article for Planet X. The last thing I'd want to see in our Star Trek Wiki are links to articles about KISS, The Legeon of Substitue Heros, Howard the Duck, or Forbush Man.

I gotta go to bed.

I gotta lay off the bottle.

What if limiting only to those that was only mentioned in the novel and related comics. The main Marvel Universe characters who actively took part in the crossover (like Wolverine, Archangel, or The Watcher) can have their articles that will contain details mentioned in the novel or comics only. Characters or events related to Marvel universe that was mentioned in passing could be lumped in a single article say Marvel Universe? -- Ensign Fridan 10:51, 18 January 2006 (UTC)

I am inclined to agree, especially since I came here specifically for information on those crossovers today.--Lord Zack 00:00, 28 May 2006 (UTC)

Maybe just have the entry in there, basic info but no links, or maybe links to the Xmen entry in the general Wiki in external links. Your quite right, this is just a non-canon star trek wiki but we should give an honourable mention. After all we dont see a complete history of WW2 on the Stormfront Wiki.

Barnstars?

Should NCSTW have a system of awards? Perhaps modeled after either Barnstars or actual Starfleet / non-Starfleet commendations? DukeEgr93 01:23, 10 July 2006 (UTC)
