Deletion rationale[]

Initially, I noted that the image formerly used as the United Earth flag was inaccurate (as explained: here) and was going to let someone far better at digital manipulation than myself make a new one in the not to distant future. Then I decided "Why put off till tomorrow," and made one myself (one seen currently.) But it was blurrier than I expected, so I uploaded a .png instead. So the question is: should we delete the .jpg (is it too blurry, or fine and delete the .png) and with it the inaccurate version, which I was going to leave in the history, but after all it is just a white banner with the logo on it. - Lieutenant Ayala 23:33, 9 February 2007 (UTC)

Discussion[]

I touched on this on the talk page to which you link, but here's the thing: It's hard to tell for certain, but to me, the UE flag seen aboard the NX-01 in "Terra Prime" looks like it's the UE seal on a white background, not a grey one, and I don't see the UE seal on the grey flag from "Demons." -- Sci 22:47 10 FEB 2007 UTC

I suppose depending on the lighting, it could appear an off white. But my rationale (after taking a look at the "Terra Prime" caps - [1] [2]) is that both flags appear to be the same shade of gray/white, and have these golden stripes on them. In "Terra Prime", the only other flags present are the "Starfleet" (blue, there seems to be two) and "Starfleet Headquarters" (yellow.) Since Earth is representing itself to these other species, it seems logical to me they'd have their flag among these. And since both seem to have the golden rope, and same generic color, occams razor surely says these are the same flag. - Lieutenant Ayala 07:52, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

Admin resolution[]

Image replace by one agreeable to both users (apparently). --The Doctor 12:31, 1 March 2007 (UTC)
