Mendeleev Crater is a meteorite impact crater, a landmark on Luna.

History and specifics[]

The crater is 313 kilometers in diameter and located in the moon's northern hemisphere at coordinates 5.7° N latitude and 140.9° E longitude.

The crater is situated halfway between Mare Moscoviense and Gagarin Crater. (Last Unicorn RPG module: Starfleet Academy "Luna Planetary Index")

The crater was named for periodic table inventor Dmitri Mendeleev, honored in Starfleet with the USS Mendeleev. It was misspelled Mendeleey on the Luna map.
